Does Yesterly upload my screenshots?
Not to us. Screenshots are stored on your device and never reach Yesterly's servers. To write a note about what you're working on, each capture is sent from your computer straight to the model you selected. A cloud provider receives the image and follows its own data rules; with a local model, nothing has to leave your computer. Read the data boundaries →
Can my employer see my timeline?
Not through Yesterly. Your timeline is stored on your device, not on our servers, and Yesterly has no team dashboard or manager view. Apart from captures sent to the AI you chose, nothing leaves your computer unless you copy or export a recap. If your employer manages your computer or provides your AI account, check their policies before you install.
Which AI models can I use?
For capture, you can use the built-in model, your own API key, a model running on your machine, or sign in with an AI subscription you already have: ChatGPT (Codex), Claude, GitHub Copilot or Grok. To write recaps, connect your own API key, sign in with your AI provider, use a local model, or use DeepSeek (web). The built-in model doesn't write recaps.
With the built-in model, scheduled captures can run every 2 minutes or less often. With your own API key or provider sign-in, they can run as often as every 30 seconds. Captures are unlimited during a paid plan, but third-party providers set their own quotas, limits and fees.
What's included in the free trial?
Every account gets a one-time free trial of 30 captures and 5 recaps. They're shared across all models and devices, and there's no time limit. While a paid plan is active, it's used first and your trial allowance isn't touched. When the trial allowance runs out, subscribe to keep adding new entries and recaps.
Does my plan renew automatically?
No. A plan runs for the length you buy, then ends. We never charge you automatically. Monthly, quarterly and annual plans have the same benefits and differ only in length: 1, 3 or 12 calendar months. You can buy more than once. Each purchase is added to the end of your current plan and never replaces it.
How do I pay?
Right now Yesterly accepts WeChat Pay only. Prices are listed in US dollars, and WeChat Pay charges a fixed amount in Chinese yuan (CNY), shown on the confirmation page before you pay. Log in, choose a plan and quantity, confirm the amount, then scan the WeChat Pay code. Your plan is added as soon as we confirm the payment, and you can see each purchase under My plan. Order times are shown in China Standard Time (UTC+8). If you can't pay this way, you can still use the free trial.
What happens to my data if my plan ends?
It stays right where it is. Your timeline and recaps live on your device, so you can keep browsing them. If you still have free trial allowance left, you can keep capturing and writing recaps with it. Once that's used up too, subscribe to add new ones.
Can I use Yesterly fully offline?
Not entirely. If you use local models for both capture and recaps, your work content can be processed on your computer without leaving it. You run the local model yourself, and logging in, device authorization and plan checks still need an internet connection. If you use a cloud model, the relevant material is sent to the service you selected. Read the data boundaries →
