Your work memory
belongs to you.
At the end of the day, you should walk away with a sense of progress.
Not an empty doc and a hazy idea of where the hours went.
And you shouldn't have to hand your whole working life to someone else's cloud just to remember it.
Your work deserves to be remembered.
Most of our effort goes into making things: writing down an idea, solving a problem, moving one small thing forward.
Then Friday comes, and all of it is scattered across windows, documents and chats.
Yesterly does something simple. While you work as usual, it keeps a note of what you're doing, joins the notes into a timeline, and helps you turn them into a recap when you need one.
You can edit it, add to it or rewrite it. The memory serves you, and what you say about your work is still up to you.
In the age of AI, your context is your work.
The more capable AI gets, the more it depends on context. The most valuable context about you is the work you do every day.
That context should belong to you, stay with you, and go only where you decide to send it.
A tool can understand your work
without owning your data.
Local-first is where we start.
Your screenshots, entries, recap text and revisions are stored on your device.
We don't keep any of it in the Yesterly cloud, and we don't relay or temporarily store your work content on our servers while a model processes it.
Your computer connects directly to the AI you choose. Which service to use, and who handles your content, is your call.
Privacy needs clear boundaries.
If you choose a cloud model, the relevant screenshots or text go directly to that provider. If you use the DeepSeek web option, the recap material goes to DeepSeek.
If you choose a compatible local model for both capture and recaps, your work content never has to leave your computer.
Yesterly's servers still handle your account, device authorization and subscription payments, plus the usage counts needed to run the built-in model. Those are kept clearly apart from your work content.

Taking stock of your work should feel like closing a loop, not adding one more chore to the end of the day.
And you should feel safe and in control whenever you use a tool like this.
Your work deserves to be remembered.
Your privacy deserves to be taken seriously.
That's Yesterly.
